Gig Harbor Neighborhoods
Horsehead Bay, Gig Harbor
Horsehead Bay is a narrow, protected bay on the southwest side of the Gig Harbor peninsula. Its shoreline is lined with waterfront homes ranging from original mid-century cabins to full rebuilds, and the bay's shape gives it some of the calmest moorage in the area. Inventory here is thin in any market; homes tend to stay in families for decades.

What makes Horsehead Bay different
Protected moorage is the draw
The bay's enclosed shape shelters docks and buoys from the weather that hits open-water frontage. For boat owners, that protection is a concrete, priceable advantage over most other waterfront in the area.
Community beach road culture
Much of the area is organized around private community roads and shared beach access, with maintenance agreements that need to be reviewed carefully during a purchase.
Cabins next to rebuilds
An original 900-square-foot cabin can sit next to a new custom home on the same stretch of shoreline. Land value versus improvement value has to be separated honestly, on both sides of the transaction.
